Specialist Workshops
Whether you’re a seasoned potter looking to refine your techniques or a complete beginner, each specialist workshop/masterclass is designed to offer personalised guidance.
Kicking off our Autumn program is Duncan Ayscough.
On the 25/26th October 2025.
Join renowned master potter Duncan Ayscough for an intensive two-day workshop dedicated to refining your bowl-making skills.
With over 30 years’ experience as a potter and senior lecturer in ceramics at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Duncan brings a wealth of knowledge in wheel-throwing, precision turning, and advanced joining techniques. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and he has been a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association since 1995.
What to Expect:
Individualised instruction: Duncan will work with each participant to set tailored goals for the weekend.
Skill development focus: This is not a production workshop but a chance to build confidence and precision at the wheel.
Practical demonstrations of advanced throwing and turning techniques.
The opportunity to keep your first bowl and your best bowl each day to track your progress.
Guidance on documenting your learning journey with photos.
Bring your own ideas, but aim to focus on one or two specific goals for the best results.
